NBA Player Kareem Rush is known throughout the league for his lethal 3-point shot but what most don't know is that he is also a very talented up and coming R&B artist. Kareem performed the National Anthem at the Laker vs Pacers game just this past 2012 season. ESPN wrote:

"And for a player, whose seven-year NBA service has been predicated by a smooth jump shot, Rush insists his voice is smoother. His debut single, "Hold You Down(promises)," was a Billboard top 40 hit and received airtime on 10 R&B stations across the country, including his hometown KPRS in Kansas City, Mo., as well as stations in Los Angeles and Washington, D.C., Rush is trying to do something countless other professional athletes have failed at -- succeed in the music business"

Rush has played for five NBA franchises and including the epic performance for The Lakers with 6 back to back 3 point shots in 2004 which helped to WIN the Western Conference Finals and opened this season with the Los Angeles Clippers. After sustaining a micro-fracture ACL tear in his right knee, Kareem was forced to take time off from the game. During his time rehabbing, Kareem was very productive and rediscovered his passion for music.

With help from producers Mario Winans, Joe Macklin, Mechalie Jamison and Earl Powell, who have worked with the likes of Mary J. Blige, Faith Evans and Jennifer Hudson, Rush will release his debut 12-song album, "Rehabbing R&B" Fall 2012.

Kareem is now in the best shape of his life looking for a team to play for. He is also looking forward to launching his campaign "Beyond a Pro, Become a Hero" for his foundation, Kareem's Kids. He might have had time off the court but Kareem has taken no days off from life and even though most would consider his injury a misfortune, Kareem doesn't see it that way at all, "It took me being stripped of who I thought I was and have always been looked at as, Kareem the basketball player, to really find and explore my other passions and talents. I've been blessed to be able to re-invent myself and strive to be the Man,Father, Son, Brother,Friend I always envisioned becoming and hopefully through my transformation I can inspire others to never stop believing in who they are and anything is possible, even changing the world."
